The Sport of Living

So here it is... my first posting on the new blog! Not to worry "Across The Pond" fans, it will be the same witty humor, great pics and interesting stories as before. Why the change? I've been inspired to work on pursuing my dream of having my own videography business and so am saving the "Across The Pond" blog and email specifically for that.

I've entitled my new blog "The Sport of Living" because that is what life feels like to me...except this game has no clear end point and transcends every season. The similarities between sports and life are countless so I will spare you the metaphors...except perhaps one.

There are times when I am skiing, cycling or rowing when it seems as if I will never get any better, I've hit a plateau and can't figure out how to move forward. As hard as I try I don't see any change or improvement. Then I take a step back, look at it from a different angle or get input from a new source and off I go again! I love that moment when you soar past your own boundaries! That is what this year in England has been for me, a year of making new friends, breaking stereotypes and challenging myself beyond what even I thought I was capable of!

I will do my best to update weekly. I'm looking forward to hearing from you as I post my adventures on rowing, racing, travel, teaching and friends new and old whilst here in Jolly Old England!

Lots of Love,
Jules

PS Looking forward to treating myself to a new camera soon so you don't have to be tortured with horrible iPhone photos. As the Brits would say "the camera on the iPhone is pants!"
